Smt. Salunkabai Raut Arts and Commerce College is one of the foremost educational institutions run by Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha Wanoja. The Department of Political Science was established in the same year of the establishment of the college in the year 1984. The department of Political Science is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research The Department aims at pursuing academic excellence and all round development of students, motivating them to acquire cognitive and political skills, to become profound scholars, original thinkers, sincere researchers good and responsible citizens, capable of playing an active and effective role in the nation-building. Thereafter post graduate programme were launched. Certificate courses namely, Leadership Development in Politics, Indian Constitution and Personality Development and Soft Skills these certificate courses has started for developing personal skills of students for getting employment opportunities in future.
Research centre in political science has been recognised by the Sant Gadge Baba University Amravati, Amravati.
