After the First World War (August 5, 1921), the Indian Defense Force (IDF) was replaced by the Indian Territorial Force (ITF), of which the University Training Corps (UTC) forms a very important part. The UTC units were raised primarily with a view to obtain the recruits for the Officers Posts in Territorial Battalions. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) came into existence on 16 July 1948 under an Act of Parliament. Its motto Unity and Discipline has guided NCC in its long-standing effort to mould young volunteers into disciplined and responsible citizens of India. Over the years, in response to the evolving environment, the NCC initial military orientation was augmented by dimensions of social service and adventure training.
Empower volunteer youth to become potential leaders and responsible citizens of the country.
To develop leadership and character qualities Mould discipline and nurture social integration and cohesion through multi-faceted programmes conducted in a military environment.
The activities of the NCC are conducted with the following objectives:- To train volunteer youth to become confident, committed and competent leaders in all walks of life To provide ample opportunities to the cadets by way of conducting firing camps, drill practices, personality development and voluntary service programmes. To create an awareness among the student community regarding its importance towards nation building To undertake adventure activities for development of leadership qualities and risk taking abilities To provide an environment that helps to motivate cadets to join the armed forces as a career.
Our college takes pride in its active involvement in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) department, boasting dedicated units comprising 50 enthusiastic cadets. The NCC serves as a vital platform for instilling values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the student body. These 50 cadets form a dynamic cohort, engaging in a variety of training activities that go beyond traditional academic pursuits. The NCC experience not only enhances their physical fitness but also molds them into responsible and disciplined individuals, ready to contribute positively to society.
One of the highlights of our NCC participation is the spirited performances during special events such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and other significant occasions. The college actively organizes and participates in NCC parades during these moments of national importance, showcasing the dedication and skill of our cadets. These parades not only symbolize the college's commitment to fostering a sense of patriotism but also serve as a testament to the hard work and training that the NCC cadets undergo. By actively engaging in such ceremonial events, our college reinforces the importance of national pride and unity, making a significant contribution to the broader educational experience of our students.
