The department of Commerce is one of the most prominent and vibrant department in Washim District. The Department of Commerce had been established in 1984. It has one section of Marathi medium at under graduate level. In the beginning year a 34 students were admitted in B.Com part one. Later on the strength began to increase year by year. Now Post graduate programme started from session 2021. The total Strength of the department 246 at graduation level and near about 100 students at post graduation level. The Department of Commerce is trying its best with increasing the test of the students & providing the new updated knowledge of subject to the students. The department aims to train students in different domains of commerce, it also helps them to develop skills for teaching and research in commerce The learned Faculty members of the department strive hard to bridge gap between the university curriculum and market requirements by providing them employment oriented knowledge and skill based training. Best Practice:- 1) To Arrange students study tours and industrial visit in order to help them have a finer blend between theoretical knowledge and practical competency. 2) The Career guidance, Personality development, Entrepreneurial development and placement cell of the college make available various avenues for the students through soft skill, training and placement programmes. Future Plans:- 1) To Establish the commerce practical laboratory especially for banking and service sector. 2) To Motivate students to write and publish research paper in various national and international research journals and participate in Avishkar, a university level research Competition. 3) To include student centric activities as per university Curriculumn. 4) To introduce practical oriented subjects such as entrepreneurship development and personality development.
