Smt. Salunkabai Raut Arts & Commerce College, Wanoja
Smt. Salunkabai Raut Arts & Commerce College, Wanoja, founded on September 23, 1984, by Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha Wanoja, has been a beacon of educational opportunity in this rural region. Despite being primarily farmers, the institution's visionary founders sought to uplift the economically and socially disadvantaged students in the area, including the children of agricultural laborers and farmers, by establishing a center for secondary and higher education. Over the past 41 years, the college has tirelessly served not only the village of Wanoja but also approximately 10 surrounding villages. Starting modestly in 1984 with 37 students in the Arts faculty and 40 students in the Commerce faculty, the college has now grown to accommodate 775 students. It offers a range of educational programs from junior college MCVC to graduation, boasting a dedicated teaching staff, a well-equipped library, a modern computer lab, spacious classrooms, and expansive green campus areas, including vast playgrounds. Affiliated with Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University, Maharashtra, the college achieved UGC recognition as 2 F 12 B in September 2011, and in January 2005, it received a C+ grade accreditation from NAAC, Bangalore.
